Because we are unable to justify ourselves to God, who is holy and pure, God, in his love for us, became human and lived a perfect life and died in our place. To all who accept him, Jesus gives his righteousness and takes away our condemnation.

This piece is not intended to depict The Crucifixion. Rather, for me, the subject is God’s act of saving us individually from our own cross. I did not begin the painting with this intent. Rather, the subject materialized as I painted.
