“Lost goose”. Acrylic paint on canvas. 16″ x 20″.
Because the purpose of my life is to glorify God and I am an artist, I have questioned now and then whether my art has to be “about” God, but I have decided no. My art may be about anything, or in the case of abstract painting, about seemingly nothing at all. A wildflower glorifies God without being about him or referencing him in any way other than being his creation. A wildflower glorifies God by being true to its creator. Correspondingly, if I am true to my creator by being the person he created me to be, then my art will fulfill its purpose.
